OBR Collected BIF 51.88 Billion In January 2014

calculetteProvisional revenue collection results for January 2014 show that OBR collected BIF 51.88bn. The target for January was BIF 53.06bn, meaning that the results are 2.22% below target. The main reason for the shortfall is a dividend which was originally forecast to be paid in January, and will eventually be paid in full in February.

1 DSC5764The Government of Burundi had set a target of Bif 547 billion as revenues to be collected by the Burundi Revenue Authority (OBR) in the year 2013. Despite the many challenges and an unfavorable economic environment, the Commissioner General of the OBR, Mr. Kieran Holmes presented largely satisfactory results of revenue collected in 2013: Bif 559.51 billion for the public treasury.
